What is a proactive AI companion?
One that can start a conversation instead of only answering yours. Mona remembers what you told her, follows up on it, delivers the reminders you ask for, and reaches out when you've gone quiet, all in her own voice.
How is that different from a push notification?
A notification repeats fixed text to everyone with an account. Mona's messages come from your conversation: the thing you said you'd do, the day you said it was happening. Reminders fire at the time you asked; check-ins are tied to something real, not a retention schedule.
Are her messages prewritten?
No. Mona writes each one in character from what she remembers about you. The rules about when she may reach out, and what she won't say, are set by us; the words are hers.
How do her messages reach me?
They are waiting in your chat the next time you open Aethris, and if you're away they are also sent to your email. Aethris does not send texts or phone push notifications.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. In Settings, under Notifications, Check-in Messages controls whether she reaches out on her own and Email Notifications controls whether anything reaches your inbox. Every email also has an unsubscribe link.
Does Mona contact anyone else or act on my behalf?
No. She only ever messages you, inside Aethris and by email. She does not contact other people, post anywhere, or take actions outside the app.
Is Mona a real person?
No. Mona is an AI character made for entertainment and companionship. Her messages are AI-generated, including the ones she starts.
